Bruce Tegner was a Pioneer in American Martial Arts in the 1950-60's. He wrote Books on Judo, Jujitsu, Karate, Kung-Fu, Savate and Self-defense. He taught many students and also worked as a Fight Choreographer in Action Films of old like "Our Man Flint." This book approaches the art of Karate and explains in detail some of its origins, lore, myths. techniques and concepts. Heavily illustrated it demonstrates exercises, stances, postures, KATA, anatomical targets, blocks, elbow strikes, hand strikes and kicks. This book also explains self-defense and provides information on Karate's ancestor Kung-Fu. I found the book interesting and informative. This book is more for the novice and beginner with some insight for advanced students.
